Back from Vacation!

After a week on the wonderful island of Nantucket, I have returned home! Along with me is a plethora of art I worked on while I was relaxing. This work was inspired by the Whaling ancestry of Nantucket and the finished piece will be coming soon! So stay frosty folks, and I'll see you soon!

I'm terrible at this.

So, it's been a little while. I've been meaning to post, really I have. I even set my blog to be my home page! Regardless, here I am, posting again. This time, I've got something new! I've started a character of my own from concept! The following drawing is a first-draft of a Dragonfly Humanoid I intend to bring from concept to 3D. I would love any comments or critiques to make this character as awesome as possible! New drawings to come soon!

Baby Steps

I lack words to express my thoughts, so I'm going to make this brief.
UPDATED MY WEBSITE WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Got a lead for an internship in NYC WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Applied to a hopefully promising position at Turbine Inc.
And I worked on my little hut some more. I've added a few things since last time, and I've begun to layout the UVs. Here's a picture! (The checkered areas are the UV'd parts)

wonderful, wonderful time off

So, I've had the last two days off from work, which has been very nice indeed, considering it came after an 11 day stretch of work. Sunday morning I spent some quality father-son time with the old man. Following that, an excursion into town for cheese, wine, and the finer things in life, along with my mom, dad, and younger brother. After and evening of awesome food, I found myself inspired to do some art. However, my inspiration this time came not for a character, but for an environment! During our excursion for fine foods, I happened upon a small candle holder (top picture), which instantly sparked my creativity. Leading me to spend that evening, and a few hours the next day working on this!
I hope that you will offer me your thoughts on this, and I will be posting my progress on it soon!

A grave miscalculation...

First, I would like to welcome you to the first post of my new blog. I haven't had much success with blogs, simply because I have trouble updating them regularly. So I am starting anew, in an effort to fix this problem.

When I made my first Blog, I didn't understand the importance of how quickly one could update their blog. Since graduating, I have worked hard on my artwork, and worked hard on my website. However, updating a website is not nearly as simple, or quick, as making a Blog post. Therein I found the importance of a Blog! I have alot of new artwork to show; artwork that I am very proud of, and I have not yet put it somewhere to be viewed. I kept telling myself that I would update my website with the new art as soon as I could.... let's face it, I'm an artist. Nuff said. This new Blog, "Harry Can Art" (tentative title), will be my solution to showing my newest and best works as I make them, in a much timelier manner.

I look forward to sharing my creations with you, and I hope you will respond with your thoughts on my art!
